The Boy Scouts of the Philippines formally launched the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree on December 15, 2025, marking the start of one of the largest outdoor educational Scouting gatherings in the Asia-Pacific region. The opening ceremony was held at Camp Zambales in Barangay San Juan, Botolan, drawing thousands of Scouts, leaders, and volunteers from across the Philippines and around the world.
Carrying the theme “Be Prepared: Scouts for Peace and Sustainable Development,” the jamboree underscores the role of Scouting in nurturing socially responsible, service-driven, and environmentally aware youth. The event’s focus aligns with the Philippine Development Plan 2023–2028 and supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, highlighting youth participation as a key driver of inclusive and sustainable growth.
Running from December 14 to 21, the weeklong jamboree brings together more than 23,000 participants from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. Scouts are immersed in outdoor camping, leadership-building exercises, cultural exchanges, and a wide range of structured activities designed to foster cooperation, discipline, and global understanding. The gathering also provides a platform for young people from diverse backgrounds to form friendships and learn from one another through shared experiences.
Beyond the festivities and activities, the jamboree places strong emphasis on leadership development, environmental stewardship, and peace-building, reinforcing Scouting’s mission of shaping well-rounded global citizens. Participants are encouraged to apply Scouting values in addressing real-world challenges, from climate action to community service.
As the country’s largest non-formal youth educational organization with more than 3.5 million members, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines continues to play a central role in youth development nationwide. Through initiatives such as the Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree, the organization reaffirms its commitment to building character, responsibility, and civic engagement among young Filipinos, positioning Scouting as a transformative force in preparing future leaders.
