Star guards Robert Bolick and Juan Gomez de Liaño shone brightly as the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup paused for the FIBA window.
Bolick scored 36 points, including six triples, and dished out 10 assists to lead NLEX to a crucial 92-83 victory over Titan Ultra. The win followed their 105-91 rout of Rain or Shine, moving the Road Warriors to 6-2 and securing a playoff spot with three games remaining before the Dec. 5 resumption.
Gomez de Liaño sparked Converge to a 106-96 win over Barangay Ginebra, posting 32 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Gin Kings coach Tim Cone praised the rookie, saying he “looked like the best player in the league,” and the guard was added to the 18-man Gilas Pilipinas pool.
For their outstanding performances, the PBA Press Corps named Bolick and Gomez de Liaño co-Players of the Week for Nov. 12–16. This marks Bolick’s first award of the season and Gomez de Liaño’s third overall, following two previous citations in October, each featuring triple-doubles.
