BJMP-Romblon, PCG conduct greyhound operation to ensure jail security

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-Romblon District Jail, in coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Romblon, conducted a Greyhound Operation on Tuesday to ensure the facility remains free of contraband.

With 92 persons deprived of liberty (PDL) under its safekeeping, the K9-assisted inspection focused on detecting illegal drugs and other prohibited items inside the jail premises. A PCG-trained dog was deployed during the sweep.

Authorities confirmed that the operation yielded negative results.

BJMP-Mimaropa regional information officer Jail Officer 3 Joefrie Anglo emphasized the agency’s commitment to safety and order within the facility.

“Every Greyhound Operation is a step toward a safer and more secure jail environment. By working with our partners, we make sure that the facility remains free of contraband and conducive to genuine reformation,” Anglo said.

The BJMP regularly conducts Greyhound Operations in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies as part of its efforts to strengthen jail security and protect the welfare of both PDLs and personnel.
