Fifty persons deprived of liberty (PDL) at the BJMP Bansud District Jail completed a 45-day training program in plant crops production, part of the facility’s ongoing rehabilitation efforts.

The program concluded with the jail’s first Modified Therapeutic Program commencement exercises on March 2. A total of 45 male and five female participants received Certificates of Training leading to the Agricultural Crops Production National Certificate II.

The training was conducted in partnership with the Municipal Public Employment Service Office of Bansud and Organiko Agricultural and Technical Training Center, Inc.

Chief Inspector Bryan Ian Paul Rañada, district jail warden, thanked the partner agencies for supporting the initiative and providing skills development opportunities for PDLs.

“Programs like these help strengthen efforts to prepare PDLs for reintegration as productive members of society,” Rañada said.

BJMP-Mimaropa spokesperson Jail Officer Joefrie Anglo said the training reflects the jail’s commitment to restorative justice and livelihood development for inmates.

Anglo added that BJMP continues to expand rehabilitation programs to transform jail facilities into centers of reformation, equipping PDLs with practical skills for future community reintegration.

Graduates received a one-time training allowance of Php 3,680 to support their immediate needs and encourage the application of their newly acquired skills.
