The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) District Jail, in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Romblon, carried out a surprise greyhound operation on Thursday to enhance security and safeguard the welfare of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).
The inspection covered dormitories, common areas, and other facilities housing 101 PDL. Authorities confirmed that no contraband was found.
BJMP Mimaropa spokesperson Jail Officer 3 Joefrie Anglo said the result reflects the bureau’s efforts to maintain order and discipline inside jails.
“This result is not just a success for BJMP but also for our PDL and the community we serve. The zero-contraband finding is a product of cooperation and discipline, and it motivates us to further strengthen our partnerships to ensure safe and humane jail facilities,” Anglo said.
The BJMP added that similar inspections are conducted regularly as part of its campaign to keep jails safe, drug-free, and compliant with national standards.
