The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has extended the deadline for filing and paying quarterly value-added tax (VAT) and percentage taxes to October 29, 2026, following the temporary unavailability of its Electronic Filing and Payment System (eFPS).
The extension covers BIR Form 2550Q, or the Quarterly VAT Return, and BIR Form 2551Q, or the Quarterly Percentage Tax Return, including the submission of required attachments.
According to the BIR, the adjustment aims to give affected taxpayers additional time to comply with their tax obligations amid technical issues involving the agency’s electronic filing platform.
The bureau assured taxpayers that no penalties will be imposed on those who submit their returns and settle their corresponding tax payments within the extended deadline.
The extension provides relief to businesses and other taxpayers who may have encountered difficulties accessing the eFPS to complete their quarterly tax requirements.
Taxpayers are encouraged to complete their filing and payment obligations on or before October 29 to avoid possible penalties and ensure compliance with existing tax regulations.
