The Police Regional Office (PRO) 5 (Bicol) reported on Wednesday that 136 individuals were arrested and nearly Php 8 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated in February.

PRO-5 chief Brig. Gen. Erosito Miranda said 127 anti-illegal drug operations were carried out across the region, including search warrants, buy-busts, and other targeted police actions.

The operations led to the arrest of nine high-value targets and 127 street-level suspects. Authorities seized 1,169.36 grams of suspected shabu and 73.10 grams of marijuana.

At least 205 criminal complaints have been filed in court to hold offenders accountable for drug-related offenses.

Miranda said police personnel remain committed to carrying out operations that dismantle illegal drug activities and reinforce public safety and the rule of law.

In a separate campaign, PRO-5 took custody of 270 firearms through 105 “Kontra Boga” and “Bilang Boga” operations. These actions also resulted in the arrest of 65 individuals found in possession of illegal firearms.

He added that these intensified efforts aim to prevent potential crimes by removing loose firearms from communities.

Miranda encouraged the public to report illegal firearms and cooperate with police efforts, emphasizing that community involvement is key to maintaining safety.
