The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said it anticipates continued high passenger traffic in the coming weeks despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said travel figures during a recent peak period showed little decline compared to last year.
Data from late March to early April showed nearly equal numbers of arrivals and departures, with totals closely matching figures recorded in the same period in 2025.
The agency also reported that overall passenger volume for the first quarter remained steady, with slightly higher totals compared to the previous year.
Viado said the minimal change was largely due to flights being booked well in advance before the conflict escalated.
However, he noted that travel to and from Middle Eastern destinations dropped significantly during the same period.
Officials expressed optimism that easing tensions in the region could help restore travel demand in affected routes.
The ongoing conflict has also contributed to rising operational costs, prompting some airlines to adjust or suspend selected services.
