It was a night of harmony, hope, and heartfelt performances as Beko, Europe’s leading home appliance brand, joined hands once again with St. John Bosco Parish to co-present the 10th Himig ng Kabataan: Alay Kay Don Bosco Choral Competition.
Held last August 30, 2025, at the St. John Bosco Parish in Makati City (also known as the Jubilee Church for Artists, Musical Bands, and Athletes), the event coincided with the parish’s 47th dedication anniversary and Jubilee Year, themed Pilgrims of Hope.
“This competition gives church-based choirs a rare chance to shine and be heard in the country’s choral music scene. Our vision is to keep Himig ng Kabataan as the longest-running church-based choir competition in the Philippines,” shared Gaylord Villa, Music Ministry Head of SJB Parish Makati.

Eight remarkable choirs filled the church with powerful voices and soul-stirring harmonies: Coro Jesu, Himig San Vicente, Koro ni San Jose, Koro ni San Miguel, Malabon Concert Singers, OMPHP Youth Ensemble VI, San Andres Chamber Singers, and The Vennekreds.
After an evening of breathtaking performances, the Malabon Concert Singers claimed the spotlight, winning the title of Grand Champion and taking home PHP 100,000. Coro Jesu earned first runner-up honors with P50,000, while The Vennekreds secured second runner-up with PHP 30,000. Special awards went to the Malabon Concert Singers for Best Song Rendition (Choice Piece) and the San Andres Chamber Singers for the People’s Choice Award.
All prizes were generously sponsored by Beko Philippines, further highlighting the brand’s commitment to uplifting communities.

“Beko is proud to support this meaningful celebration of faith, music, and talent,” said Dyeun Zapanta, Marketing Head of Beko Philippines. “Just as our appliances aim to enrich daily living, this competition enriches lives by building connections and inspiring hope through music.”
Now on its 10th year, Himig ng Kabataan has become more than just a competition—it’s a tradition of celebrating the Filipino spirit, where faith and artistry converge. For Beko, the event is part of its continuing mission to not only champion sustainability but also to create lasting positive impact on Filipino families and communities.
