BDO’s sixth ASEAN Sustainability Bond offer closes early on strong investor demand

Investor appetite for sustainable investments remained robust as BDO Unibank Inc. (BDO) closed the offer period for its sixth Peso-denominated ASEAN Sustainability Bonds ahead of schedule, just two days after the offering opened.

Originally slated to run from July 9 to 21, 2026, the public offer was cut short on July 10 after drawing strong interest from both retail and institutional investors, highlighting sustained market confidence in BDO’s sustainable finance initiatives.

The latest bond issuance carries a 1.5-year tenor with a 6.26% annual coupon rate, offering investors an opportunity to support projects that generate both financial returns and positive environmental and social impact. The bonds are scheduled for issue, settlement, and listing on July 28, 2026.

Proceeds from the issuance will be used to finance and refinance eligible projects under BDO’s Sustainable Finance Framework, expand the Bank’s lending activities, and further diversify its funding sources. The initiative reinforces BDO’s commitment to channeling capital toward investments that promote sustainable economic growth while strengthening its balance sheet.

The issuance was arranged by ING Bank N.V., Manila Branch, which served as Sole Arranger and Sustainability Coordinator. BDO and ING acted as Selling Agents, while BDO Capital & Investment Corporation served as Financial Advisor.

The early closure of the offering reflects the growing preference among investors for fixed-income instruments that combine competitive yields with measurable sustainability objectives, further cementing BDO’s position as one of the country’s leading issuers of sustainable financing instruments.
