BCC 1, Benlife 1 seize early lead at 75th Januarius Fil-Am Golf Invitational

Early leaders on the fairway. BCC 1 and Benlife 1 open strong at the 75th Januarius Fil-Am Golf Invitational in Baguio, powering ahead in the Seniors Division with stellar first-round performances. ⛳️🌤️

BAGUIO CITY – Baguio Country Club (BCC) 1 and Benlife 1 surged ahead in their respective flights after the opening round of the Seniors Division in the 75th Januarius Fil-Am Golf Invitational Championship on Friday, November 28.

Godofredo “Goody” Ignacio and Mars Garcia each fired 27 points to power BCC 1’s 98-point haul at the John Hay course. Politico Mayos added 26, while Edgar Montenegro chipped in 18 to cap the team’s strong start.

Fil-Am Golfers of New York 1 and Baguio Blue Bloods finished the round tied at 91 points, while FODC Team posted 92.
In AM-A, San Francisco Golf Warriors took the early command with 86 points, thanks to Rey De La Cruz (24), Lito Llarena (23), and the duo of Paul Tan and Lino Magpantay, who both carded 18.

Baguio Beans secured second place with 80 points, followed by The Young Ones with 78.

In Seniors Fil-C, Benlife Seniors Team 1 opened with an impressive 90 points behind Clifford Lichaytoo’s 30-point explosion, securing a 10-point cushion over Fil-Am Golf of Florida 1, which tallied 80.
Backing Lichaytoo were George Goduco and Gerardo Rivera with identical 22s, while Jaime Fernandez added 16.

For Fil-Am Golf of Florida 1, Godofredo “Fred” Laurente led with 28 points, followed by Ramon “Mon” Carlos (22), Jimmy Mapalo (16), and Marlon Battad (14). Team City of Vallejo 1 settled in third with 76.

A1/MGC and Abetamu each scored 91 to headline the Seniors Fil-D group.
Gabriel Javelosa paced A1/MGC with 26, supported by Ramon “Mon” Ocampo (23), Edward “Ed” Isidoro (22), and Arsenio Madriaga (20).
Abetamu drew strength from Romeo “Buddy” Dungca’s 29, Rhodel “Dhay” Rivera’s 27, Ariel “Aga” Araja’s 19, and Vegel “Gel” Vicencio’s 16.

BCC TOO compiled 87 points, while LMG-Golf Cabanatuan Inc. managed 70.

Other results in the tournament supported by Januarius Holdings Inc. as title sponsor, along with Malbon Phil’s, Toyota, Oroderm, and Mazda as major sponsors, include:
AM-C – Bughaw Golfers 78, Sandigan 82, Team 2 with 70, and IGC Travelers 66.

The Seniors Championship flights tee off on Saturday.
