The camp of Sen. Ronald Dela Rosa has surrendered 20 firearms to police after the Philippine National Police revoked his firearm licenses and gun registrations.
The PNP said Monday that the firearms were turned over last Thursday in Barangay Maa, Davao City through Dela Rosa’s authorized legal representative.
Police did not identify the representative who facilitated the turnover.
According to the PNP, the 20 firearms were counted, documented, and covered by acknowledgment receipts before they were brought to the Regional Civil Security Unit 11 office.
The firearms are now under official custody at Camp Sgt. Quintin Merecido in Buhangin, Davao City for safekeeping.
The PNP said the turnover was carried out in an orderly manner and in accordance with police rules and procedures.
In May, the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office revoked Dela Rosa’s license to own and possess firearms, along with the registrations of his 117 guns.
The revocation came amid efforts to arrest Dela Rosa on a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court over his alleged role in former President Rodrigo Duterte’s drug war, which rights groups said left up to 30,000 people dead.
