Barbie Forteza’s 28th birthday isn’t just about cake and candles—it’s about compassion, connection, and creating lasting memories for those who need it most.

With her actual birthday still days away on July 31, the Kapuso actress opted for a heartfelt celebration ahead of time by spending the day with the children of CHILD Haus, a shelter for young cancer patients and their caregivers. The visit, held last July 20, turned into an unforgettable experience not just for the kids—but for Barbie herself.

Not just a celebrity visit—a moment of magic
This wasn’t your typical celebrity appearance. Barbie didn’t just show up—she showed up early. According to staff at the shelter, she arrived an hour ahead of schedule, quietly waiting in her car until everything was ready.

When she entered the room, it lit up.

Dressed simply and without fanfare, Barbie joined the kids in their games, shared food and gifts, and even made time for personalized video messages. She wasn’t just “present”—she was fully there, making sure no child was left out, no smile unnoticed.

One particularly touching moment was when the children surprised Barbie by serenading her with Nikki Gil’s “Glowing Inside.” The emotion on her face said it all. Barbie, usually poised and composed, was moved to tears.

From fan love to full hearts
The visit was made possible through the efforts of her ever-loyal fan club, the Barbienatics, who organized and donated to the event. Sparkle GMA Artist Center, her talent agency, posted highlights from the day, calling it “a birthday filled with purpose.”

A staff member at CHILD Haus, social media personality Inday Garutay, was so struck by Barbie’s warmth that she posted a video tribute detailing the actress’s sincerity: from patiently waiting in her car before the event to helping fans fit into her own vehicle on the way home. “Super bait nya,” Inday wrote. “Napakabuti ng puso.”

A star who shines off-cam
This isn’t the first time Barbie has turned her spotlight into a beacon for others. Known for her authenticity both on and off screen, the actress has built a reputation not just for her acting chops, but for her humility and genuine care for people.

Following her CHILD Haus visit, Barbie enjoyed a quiet dinner with her parents, Tony Forteza and Imelda Ambas. On Instagram, she posted a lighthearted update about the dinner—and the steak that moved her to (happy) tears.

The real celebration
While glitzy parties and glamorous gifts are often expected in the world of showbiz, Barbie’s early birthday bash shows that the best way to celebrate life is by lifting others up. Through laughter, music, and shared stories, she made her 28th year about more than herself—something her fans, and the families she touched, won’t forget.

As one of the kids at CHILD Haus said before blowing out candles with Barbie: “Ate Barbie made today feel like our birthday, too.”

And isn’t that what being a star is really about?
