The Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested a former member of the DI-Hassan Group who was listed as the most wanted person in the Bangsamoro region for the fourth quarter of 2026 during a counterterrorism operation in Sultan Kudarat on October 23.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Borgo,” was arrested in Barangay Poblacion, Esperanza, by operatives of the PNP Special Action Force (SAF), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), and other police units, in coordination with the National Intelligence Coordination Agency (NICA).

According to the PNP, Borgo was ranked No. 1 on the regional most wanted list of the Police Regional Office–Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR).

He faces charges of double murder, multiple frustrated murder, carnapping, and two counts of theft.

The arrest was carried out based on warrants issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 15 in Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur, and the Municipal Circuit Trial Court covering Ampatuan and Sultan sa Barongis.

The warrants for double murder and multiple frustrated murder were issued on February 2, 2023, while the carnapping warrant was dated June 13, 2024. The warrant covering two counts of theft was issued on April 3, 2023.

Following his arrest, the suspect was turned over to CIDG Regional Field Unit 12 for documentation and proper disposition.

PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the operation demonstrated the importance of intelligence-driven law enforcement in tracking down wanted individuals and addressing security threats.

“Every successful arrest reinforces our commitment to protecting communities and ensuring that no one is beyond the reach of the law,” Nartatez said.

“Ang pagkakaaresto sa mga wanted person ay mahalagang hakbang upang mapanagot ang mga lumalabag sa batas. Wala tayong palalampasin, lalo na kung seguridad ng ating mga kababayan ang nakataya,” he added.

The PNP said the arrest was part of its intensified intelligence-led operations targeting wanted individuals and security threats across the country.
