Authorities seize P20.4M worth of Shabu in Zamboanga City

In an anti-drug operation early Sunday, authorities seized approximately PHP20.4 million worth of shabu and arrested a suspect identified as a high-value individual (HVI). The operation took place around 12:15 a.m. along Gen. Vicente Alvarez Street in Barangay Zone 4.

Col. Diomarie Albarico, chief of the police’s Drug Enforcement Group’s Special Operation Unit, reported that the suspect, Nelson Lamon, 41, was apprehended after he received an ecological bag containing 23 bundles of boodle money in exchange for a package containing suspected shabu, which he handed to an undercover policeman.

From Lamon, authorities confiscated three plastic packs containing three kilos of suspected shabu, along with a mobile phone.

The suspect is currently detained at Zamboanga City Police Station 11, pending the filing of charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. This illegal drug seizure is noted as the largest drug haul in the city so far this month, according to officials.
