Aurora Philippines cemented its place in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) history Thursday night, notching its 14th straight victory with a hard-fought 3-2 triumph over TNC in the upper bracket semifinals at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
The streak-breaking win surpassed the previous 13-game record set by Onic Philippines’ Season 14 juggernaut, marking a new era of dominance for the rising powerhouse in its third MPL season.
In a dramatic Game 5 decider, Aurora relied on the poise and late-game wizardry of Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo, who piloted Cecilion to perfection. Yue’s masterclass in the crucial Lord skirmishes turned the tide — first outlasting TNC in a chaotic initial Lord fight, then spearheading the decisive push off a clean sweep in the second engagement.
The result not only preserved Aurora’s unbeaten run but also guaranteed the squad at least a Top 3 finish — a remarkable feat for a team that only debuted two seasons ago.
Next up, Aurora PH will face Team Liquid Philippines in the upper bracket finals on Friday — a showdown that doubles as a qualifying match for the prestigious M7 World Championship in January.
Team Liquid earned its spot after a resounding 3-0 sweep of Onic PH earlier in the evening, dominating every phase of play and conceding just one turret throughout the entire series.
With the loss, Onic PH now faces a dangerous detour in the lower bracket, where it must overcome TNC to keep its title defense alive and prevent its M-Series crown from slipping away.
Aurora’s meteoric rise, anchored by clutch play and impeccable chemistry, has now become the talk of the MPL — a story of resilience, teamwork, and an unrelenting quest for history.
