Antique health officials reminded the public to follow the 4S strategy against dengue after the province recorded 249 cases and one death since the start of the year.
The Antique Integrated Provincial Health Office said the cases were recorded from Jan. 1 to Wednesday.
Bugasong logged the highest number of cases with 37, followed by Sibalom with 35 and Valderrama with 27.
Culasi recorded 21 cases, while the provincial capital of San Jose de Buenavista had 18.
The lone fatality was reported in Patnongon, which had 14 dengue cases.
IPHO information officer Irene Duldoco said the patient was a 99-year-old woman who died of severe dengue on May 3.
Duldoco said residents should continue observing the 4S strategy, which means searching for and destroying mosquito breeding sites, securing self-protection, seeking early consultation, and supporting fogging or spraying only in hotspot areas.
The IPHO, together with the Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development, is set to hold a health talk in Sebaste on Thursday to intensify dengue awareness in the province.
