Authorities in Antique deployed response teams to help ensure public safety during the Holy Week observance.
The Antique Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said two teams were sent out on Wednesday to monitor key areas.
PDRRMO chief Broderick Train said each team is composed of eight personnel assigned to strategic locations.
One team was stationed in Hamtic to support road safety operations along routes connecting Antique and Iloilo.
The second group was assigned to coastal monitoring in San Jose de Buenavista, particularly in Barangay Dalipe, where beachgoers are expected.
Train said the team in Hamtic is assisting personnel from the Department of Public Works and Highways to help manage traffic and ensure safer travel.
He added that, unlike in previous years, monitoring activities in mountainous border areas were reduced, with teams positioned closer to populated zones to conserve fuel.
Authorities advised motorists to ensure their vehicles are in good condition and urged beachgoers to exercise caution, especially when swimming, noting past incidents of road accidents and the need to avoid risky behavior.
