The northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, will continue to bring rains and breezy conditions over parts of Northern Luzon, the state weather bureau said on Saturday.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains brought about by the prevailing monsoon winds.

The same weather system is also expected to bring cloudy skies with light rains over Apayao and mainland Cagayan, while Ilocos Region, the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the remaining areas of Cagayan Valley will likely see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.

PAGASA also warned of stronger winds affecting coastal areas in Northern Luzon, where moderate to strong winds are expected to generate moderate to rough seas. In contrast, the rest of the archipelago will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate sea conditions.
