Everything comes down to one final game.

National University stands on the brink of a historic three-peat as it squares off with De La Salle University in a winner-take-all Game 3 of the UAAP baseball Finals on Tuesday at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

The Bulldogs forced the decider with a convincing 9-3 triumph in Game 2 last Friday, resetting a series that now promises high drama when both squads collide at 8 a.m.

For NU head coach Romar Landicho, the turning point came not on the field, but in how his team responded to adversity.

“After Game 1, we accepted the loss because La Salle really played well, especially their pitcher Liam De Vera,” Landicho said. “We knew something was missing, so we made the necessary adjustments heading into Game 2.”

Those adjustments paid off. NU rediscovered its offensive rhythm, powered by the dynamic Maulit twins, Kenneth and Kevin, while Hilario Espina III delivered a composed and commanding outing on the mound.

Now, with momentum on their side, the Bulldogs are leaning on both confidence and composure as they chase another title.

“We’re bringing our momentum into Game 3,” Landicho said. “Coming off a win is a big motivation. But more than that, it’s about preparation—we know what needs to be done.”

Still, Landicho emphasized that mindset will be the true difference-maker in a championship-deciding clash.

“It’s about not giving up. In games like this, if you lose that mindset, nothing happens. We have to stay mentally strong until the last out. We will fight until the end.”

Standing in NU’s way is a determined La Salle side eager to reclaim the crown it last held in Season 85. The Green Batters, led by standout players Tuting Samuel and ace Liam De Vera, are equally hungry to finish what they started.

With legacy, redemption, and history all on the line, Game 3 promises no shortage of intensity—only one team will walk away as champion.
