The undead are stirring once again in Hyosan — and this time, the nightmare is far from over.
Three years after its explosive debut, Netflix’s smash-hit zombie thriller “All of Us Are Dead” has officially begun production on its highly anticipated second season. The announcement was made by Netflix Korea on July 23 through a set of behind-the-scenes photos that showed returning cast members diving back into the chaos — alongside a few new survivors.
Back in action
Season 2 sees the return of familiar faces: Park Ji-hu (Nam On-jo), Yoon Chan-young (Lee Cheong-san), Cho Yi-hyun (Choi Nam-ra), and Lomon (Lee Soo-hyuk), who are all reprising their roles as the original Hyosan High survivors. The first table read offered a sneak peek into the reunion, complete with playful moments between cast members and a creepy cameo from a fully made-up zombie.
New blood joins the fight
But the apocalypse is getting an upgrade. Season 2 introduces a new batch of characters played by Lee Min-jae, Kim Si-eun, Yoon Ga-i, and Roh Jae-weon — a fresh set of survivors (or victims?) who will be thrust into the terror. Their arrival suggests an expanded universe and more intense survival scenarios ahead.
A deadlier sequel
According to a Variety report, the new season will follow Nam On-jo as she adjusts to university life, still haunted by the horrors of Hyosan. But just when things seem normal, another zombie outbreak erupts — and this one promises to be even more devastating.
Lee Cheong-san, previously thought to be dead, is now confirmed to be alive — though the details of his survival are still under wraps. Alongside Nam-ra and Soo-hyuk, he must confront the psychological and physical aftermath of their previous ordeal, as they once again battle for survival in a world where the line between human and monster continues to blur.
Same creators, darker vision
The creative team behind the first season remains intact, with directors Lee Jae-kyoo and Kim Nam-su back behind the camera and Chun Sung-il returning as the writer. Adapted from the popular webtoon by Joo Dong-geun, the series made global waves in 2022 for its gripping storyline, emotional depth, and unrelenting suspense.
Season 2 is shaping up to raise the stakes, deepen the trauma, and expand the universe of “All of Us Are Dead.” With its original cast stepping into more complex roles and a new generation thrown into the fire, the question now is: can they survive again?
Prepare for more blood, more heartbreak — and a whole lot more zombies.
