Alfonsi Daquigan makes history as first Filipino rider in the European Talent Cup

Representing the Honda Philippines Junior Talent Team under the Honda Asia Dream Racing junior program, Alfonsi isn’t just chasing podiums—he’s racing for pride, passion, and the future of Filipino motorsport.

At just 15, Alfonsi is already showing young riders across the Philippines that the dream of going from local circuits to international competition is not only possible—it’s within reach. Every time he leans into a corner or accelerates down a straightaway, he carries with him the aspirations of a nation that dares to dream big.

In his ETC debut, Alfonsi showcased a blend of skill and composure well beyond his years. From smooth cornering and calculated overtakes to a calm presence under pressure, he went head-to-head with 55 of the best junior riders from across Asia and Europe. Starting 19th on the grid, he finished 20th in Race 1 and bounced back with an impressive 11th place in Race 2—securing 17th in the overall standings for the round.

“This journey isn’t just mine—it belongs to every Filipino rider who dreams big,” Alfonsi shared. “I’m here because of years of hard work, sacrifice, and the support of my family, coaches, and Honda. I’m racing to make my country proud.”
