Filipina tennis star Alexandra “Alex” Eala shared her reflections on her recent tournaments in China, competing at the Jingshan Tennis Open and Suzhou Open WTA 125.
“Some crazy matches this week,” Eala wrote on social media, posting photos from the tournaments alongside a screenshot of her three-hour, 18-minute, and 40-second Round of 16 match against Greet Minnen.
“Back to the drawing board with a bit more experience and a lot of sweat lost,” she added.
Eala opened her Suzhou campaign with a hard-fought three-set victory over Poland’s Katarzyna Kawa, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5, then outlasted Belgium’s Minnen in a tight 7-6(5), 6(3)-7, 7-5 match. Her run ended in the quarterfinals, falling to Viktorija Golubic, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(0).
A week earlier, Eala reached the semifinals of the Jingshan Tennis Open, where she lost to Lulu Sun. Despite the challenges, the young athlete continues to gain valuable experience on the international stage.
