Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee sought medical treatment after being bitten in the face by her beloved pet dog, according to posts shared on her official Instagram account on Tuesday, June 3.

Dee described the incident as an “unexpected Tuesday plot twist” and posted photos showing visible injuries on her cheek and chin. In one of the images, she wrote, “Sa mukha ko pa talaga,” showing the location of the bite.

Following the incident, Dee received treatment from celebrity dermatologists Dr. Vicki Belo and Dr. Hayden Kho.

Dr. Belo also shared a post related to the incident, assuring Dee of her support with the message, “We got you, Michelle!”

She later issued a reminder to fellow pet owners: “No matter how much we love your furbabies, never underestimate dog bites! Act quick.”

On Wednesday, June 4, Dee posted an update on her Instagram Stories reporting positive progress in her recovery. She wrote, “Day 2! It’s surprisingly healing so fast”.

Dee shared that the chin and cheek swelling had gone down, there were no signs of infection, active spots were drying cleanly, redness had reduced, and healing appeared more controlled.

In a separate story, Dee posted a photo with her pet dog along with the caption, “It’s okay… You’re still my babygirl…” reaffirming her affection for her pet despite what happened.

The incident has drawn public attention, with social media users expressing concern and offering well wishes. It also prompted broader discussions on pet safety and responsible ownership.
