Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office General Manager Melquiades “Mel” A. Robles was honored by the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary on Thursday, September 24, for his support of Coast Guard personnel and humanitarian work.
Robles received the PCGA Merit Medal and Ribbon in a ceremony at Coast Guard headquarters in Manila. An auxiliary commodore, he was recognized for his volunteerism, compassion and commitment to public service.
The Coast Guard said his continued support has helped lighten the load for its personnel and strengthen their morale while on duty.
Robles credited the partnership between PCSO and the Coast Guard for bringing their shared mission into action.
“PCSO and the Philippine Coast Guard are united by a common purpose: to serve and help the people, especially in times of greatest need,” he said.
He thanked the Coast Guard for working with PCSO on charitable and humanitarian activities and said the award gave him further resolve to continue their joint efforts.
