965 Delegates to Represent Western Visayas in 2025 Palarong Pambansa

A total of 965 delegates from Western Visayas will head to Ilocos Norte for the 2025 Palarong Pambansa, according to the Department of Education Region 6.

The delegation includes 605 athletes, 87 coaches, 24 assistant coaches, 40 chaperons, and 209 technical working group members.

DepEd-6 spokesperson Hernani Escullar Jr. highlighted that this year’s delegation is unique, as it will be jointly managed by two regional directors—Director Ramir Uytico and Director Cristito Eco.

Delegates from Bacolod City and Negros Occidental will still join Western Visayas despite the recent formation of the Negros Island Region (NIR).

Escullar expressed confidence in the team’s chances this year:
“Mangin unique ang participation sang Western Visayas bangud duha ang regional director nga maga-share sang ila leadership sa Palarong Pambansa. Memorable ini kay katapusan nga pag-updanay sang mga atleta kag coaches halin sa Negros Occidental,” he said.
He added that with Director Eco from the National Capital Region (NCR), “Western Visayas has the chance to outplay powerhouse NCR.”

Delegates will leave for Ilocos Norte on May 17, 2025. The orientation for technical officials is set on May 20, the solidarity meeting will be held on May 23, and the opening program is scheduled for May 24.
