ILOILO CITY – Six local civil registry offices (LCROs) in the city and province of Iloilo received recognition for their excellent performance in delivering efficient, innovative, and citizen-centered civil registration services.

The Outstanding LCRO Awards were conferred during the 4th National Convention on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, from July 28 to 30, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said in a statement on Friday.

The awardees included Carles, which won second place, and San Joaquin in the ninth place in the medium category; Balasan in the fourth place and Guimbal in the eighth place for the large category; San Dionisio in the ninth place for the small category; and Iloilo City as an eighth placer for the super extra large category.

“Offices are evaluated based on submitted civil registry documents, implementation of the BRAP, mobile registration, information dissemination, compliance with CRS requirements, use of the Philippine Civil Registry Information System (PhilCRIS), and over-and-above initiatives,” the PSA said.

San Dionisio also earned national recognition for its strong implementation of the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP), mobile registration, and quality documentation.

Iloilo City, meanwhile, was hailed as the Most Innovative LCRO in Western Visayas.

“Through their RISE framework (Reach, Inform, Simplify, and Empower), Iloilo City advanced civil registration through targeted information education campaign and digital transformation, making them a model of innovation in Western Visayas,” the PSA said.

PSA Iloilo OIC and Supervising Statistical Specialist Jerry Dolutan said their efforts uphold the integrity and responsiveness of the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics system in the country.

“These recognitions not only honor each local registry office and their respective LGUs but also bring pride to the entire province and city of Iloilo,” he said. (PNA)
