ILOILO CITY – More than 5,200 security personnel have been deployed by the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO-6) to ensure the safe, orderly, and peaceful commemoration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day on Friday.
In a report on Thursday, the PRO-6 said 4,430 police, 101 personnel from partner agencies, and 761 force multipliers are strategically positioned in ceremonial venues, public places, transportation terminals, major roads, and other areas of convergence to provide security coverage, traffic management, public assistance, and other support services.
PRO-6 Acting Regional Director Brig. Gen Randulf Tuaño also directed all unit commanders to ensure maximum police visibility, strengthen coordination with local government units, and partner agencies.
“As we commemorate our nation’s independence, PRO-6 remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding every Filipino in Western Visayas,” he said in a statement.
He also encouraged the public to celebrate responsibly and cooperate with authorities.
The public is likewise encouraged to remain vigilant and immediately report suspicious activities through 911 or the nearest police station. (PNA)
