As of the 12:00 NN situational report on Wednesday, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)—Bureau of Maintenance reported that 30 road sections remain closed to traffic due to Tropical Cyclone Kristine’s impacts.
Two (2) road sections in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), four (4) in Region IV-A, one (1) in Region IV-B, twenty-two (22) in Region V, and one (1) in Region VIII are affected.
Various incidents have caused road closures, including soil collapse, flooding, road slips, fallen trees, collapsed detour roads, pavement failures, rockslides, landslides, and collapsed bridges.
In addition, seven (7) road sections have limited access due to flooding and soil/rock collapse: two (2) in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), one (1) in Region IV-A, three (3) in Region V, and one (1) in Region VIII.
Meanwhile, as of the reported date and time, all national roads and bridges in other affected regions remain passable to all types of vehicles.
The DPWH is actively monitoring and clearing roads to ensure the safety and accessibility of the national road network, which is crucial for relief efforts in the affected areas.
