3 weather systems to bring widespread rains across PH

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that three weather systems are expected to bring rain and cloudy skies to various parts of the Philippines.

Foremost among these is the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), which will trigger cloudy conditions with scattered rain and thunderstorms over Mindanao, the Negros Island Region, and Palawan.

Meanwhile, a shear line is expected to affect the Batanes and Babuyan Islands, and the easterlies will bring similar weather to Aurora and Quezon.

PAGASA also cautioned that moderate to heavy rainfall in affected areas could lead to flash floods or landslides, particularly in terrain- and slope-vulnerable zones.

Coastal conditions will also change: northern and western sections of Northern Luzon are forecast to experience moderate to strong winds and rough seas, while the rest of the archipelago will see light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.

Residents in regions under the influence of these systems are advised to monitor weather updates, avoid risky areas such as slopes and riverbanks during heavy rain, and follow instructions from local disaster-management offices.
