3 national road sections closed due to storm Crising, others partially affected

Three national road sections across different regions have been declared impassable due to the combined impact of Severe Tropical Storm Crising and the southwest monsoon, according to a travel advisory from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

As of 6 a.m. Saturday, closures were reported in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Negros Island Region (NIR) following incidents of soil collapse, rockfall, and landslides. The affected roads are:

  • Kennon Road (S00393LZ) K0216+(-460), Camp 1 in Tuba, Benguet
  • San Vicente – Savidug – Chavaya – Sumnanga – Nakanmuan Road in Barangay Chavayan, Sabtang, Batanes
  • Dancalan – Candoni – Damutan Valley Road in Barangay Gatuslao, Candoni, Negros Occidental

In addition, six other national road sections remain partially passable due to flooding and safety concerns. These include:

  • Dugo – San Vicente Road (Dugo-Mission Section) in Buguey, Cagayan
  • Amungan – Palauig Road in Barangay Bato, Palauig, Zambales
  • Bacolod South Road (S00134NR), Negros Occidental
  • Junction Bagonawa – La Castellana – Isabela Road, Negros Occidental
  • Hinigaran – Isabela Road, Negros Occidental
  • Bacolod South Road (S00224NR), Barangay Dancalan, Ilog, Negros Occidental

Despite these closures, the DPWH confirmed that all other national roads and bridges in the affected regions remain open to all types of vehicles as of Saturday morning. Motorists are advised to remain cautious and stay updated on road advisories.
