
ISTANBUL – Two people were killed and 19 others injured when a small aircraft crashed into the rooftop of a commercial building near Fullerton Airport in California on Thursday, local police said.
The crash occurred at 2:09 p.m. (local time) when a Vans RV-10, a four-seat, single-engine, low-wing aircraft, hit a building in the 2300 block of Raymer Avenue, the Fullerton Police Department said.
Both fatalities were believed to be occupants of the four-passenger aircraft, which was found engulfed in flames inside the structure.
Identities of the deceased have yet to be released.
Of the 19 people injured inside the building, 11 were transported to local hospitals, while eight were treated at the scene and released.
The US National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration investigate the incident.
Fullerton is a city in Orange County, California, approximately 35 kilometers southeast of Los Angeles. (Anadolu)
