2 dead, 1 injured in QC blaze; 7 homes damaged

Two people were killed and one was injured in a fire that broke out in a residential area of Quezon City on Thursday, as reported by the Bureau of Fire Protection – National Capital Region (BFP-NCR).

In a report released on Friday, the BFP-NCR confirmed that a 68-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman, whose names have not been disclosed, lost their lives in the blaze. Additionally, Bonifacio de Guzman, 72, sustained second-degree burns to his right shoulder.

Authorities reported that the fire was first raised to a first alarm at 4:58 p.m. on November 21, followed by a second alarm at 5:11 p.m. The fire was brought under control at 6:23 p.m. and fully extinguished by 6:38 p.m.

The fire damaged about seven homes, displacing 15 families, and resulting in an estimated P17,500 in property losses. Fire investigators are still working to determine the cause, as of this writing.
