Two Chinese nationals were arrested at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for attempting to use counterfeit visas to leave the Philippines.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said the passengers, identified as Wang Dingku, 31, and Su Zhengkun, 25, were stopped by immigration officers at Terminal 1 on Sunday as they tried to board a flight to Bangkok, Thailand.
The officers noticed irregularities in their visas, prompting them to refer the documents to the BI’s forensic laboratory for further examination. The lab confirmed the visas were fake.
The two men had also allegedly used the fraudulent visas to enter the Philippines. They are facing charges under the Philippine Immigration Act and will be deported after a ruling by the BI board of commissioners.
Both individuals are currently in BI custody at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City, awaiting deportation.
