The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) confiscated 120 containers of alleged unregistered cooking oil during a search operation in Barangay Mayamot, Antipolo City.

The seized cooking oil worth P195,328 was reportedly traded without a License to Operate (LTO) and was allegedly not registered with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Authorities have yet to confirm if any arrests were made in the operation initiated by the CIDG Rizal Provincial Field Unit in coordination with the Regional Mobile Force Battalion Rizal.

According to CIDG, the operation was conducted under a search warrant. They emphasized that distributing food products without proper authorization is a violation of Section 10 of Republic Act No. 9711, also known as the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009.

The CIDG further warned that the safety and quality of unregistered food products are not assured because they have not undergone the FDA’s evaluation process.
