Ten members of a team from the Department of Health were sent to the hospital after a dump truck crashed into their van following the Traslacion.
The incident occurred at EDSA Muñoz at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Friday.
In addition to the truck and the van, it was reported that another vehicle was involved in the incident.
Authorities said that the team was on their way home after successfully assisting with the annual Traslacion of Jesus Nazareno when the crash occurred.
The truck driver, who was transporting a load of backfill from Pasay City to Bulacan, reportedly fell asleep while driving along EDSA Muñoz.
“Napaidlip ako hindi ko na napansin nakatigil na ‘yung sa harap ko. Mabagal lang pero mabigat kasi karga,” the driver said.
MMDA traffic enforcer Lara May Nadayao reported that the medical team’s van was making a U-turn when the truck rammed into it.
The vehicles and drivers involved in the accident were brought in for questioning at the QCPD Traffic Sector 6.
