Security Bank Corporation is accelerating its technology transformation, doubling down on modern architecture, artificial intelligence, real-time data platforms, cybersecurity, and automation to deliver faster, safer, and more seamless banking experiences for its customers. The Makati-based lender said the push strengthens operational resilience and scalability while reinforcing its BetterBanking commitment.

“Security Bank is building a modern, secure, and customer-centric foundation designed to support sustainable growth while continually improving customer experiences,” said Lucose Eralil, executive vice president and chief operating officer.

“Our progress reflects disciplined execution and a forward-looking approach, and these recognitions reinforce the strength of the transformation we are delivering,” Eralil added.

Over the first nine months of 2025, Security Bank Corporation streamlined key core systems and processes, resulting in marked gains in speed, reliability, compliance efficiency, and overall service delivery.

The progress has not gone unnoticed, earning multiple regional accolades that underscore the bank’s standing as one of the Philippines’ most innovative and future-ready financial institutions.

A cornerstone of the transformation is the bank’s shift toward a platform-based, API-driven operating model. Security Bank recently received the Technology Excellence Award for API–Banking at the 2025 Asian Technology Excellence Awards for its Enterprise API Platform.

By converting banking capabilities into secure, reusable API products, the bank has accelerated the rollout of new services, improved consistency across digital channels, and strengthened its readiness for Open Banking, all while enhancing market agility.

The bank has also made significant strides in digitizing compliance and modernizing branch operations. Its Transactor Due Diligence platform, now live across 346 branches nationwide, earned recognition as Best Compliance Risk Technology Initiative at The Asian Banker Global Financial Technology Awards.

The fully digital KYC workflow has sharply reduced processing times, improved customer experience, strengthened compliance integrity, and eliminated paper-based processes, supporting both efficiency and sustainability goals.

Real-time intelligence has emerged as another competitive advantage. Security Bank’s Data Streaming Platform was named Best Data Integration and Framework Initiative in Asia Pacific by The Asian Banker, following its transition from batch processing to enterprise-grade real-time streaming.

The shift enables instant insights, faster and more reliable transactions, and real-time analytics, placing the bank among a select group of Philippine lenders operating at this level of data maturity.

Taken together, these initiatives reflect a disciplined move toward a modern digital banking environment defined by large-scale API deployment, fully digitized branch compliance, real-time enterprise data streaming, and security and resilience built into system design.

The bank said the combined impact is a stronger operating backbone, improved customer experiences, and enhanced competitiveness to support future growth.

Looking ahead, Security Bank plans to continue executing its multi-year technology roadmap, with further investments in artificial intelligence and automation for fraud management and operations, advanced cybersecurity and real-time threat monitoring, core banking and payments modernization, API monetization and embedded finance partnerships, and deeper digitalization across branches and internal processes.
