One can easily detect a Marcos hater 10 kilometers away. He refers to the late FM as a “dictator,” while his son Bongbong a “bangag.”
But look who’s talking. They even stretch it further by wishing him ill health and death for a reason so obvious it begs some response knocking on their thick skulls.
And foreseeably, the burial of the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. is once again being discussed, giving the credit to former President Rodrigo Duterte as the man who allowed it and buried the issue (pun unintended) once and for all.
All I can say is that it was a Supreme Court decision to allow an honorable burial for a departed soldier and former head of state.
If you remember, Ninoy Aquino and his family, as well as the Lopez family of the Meralco and the Manila Chronicle (no, not this paper) empire, and the Corystas and other oligarchs from the pre-Martial law years, opposed everything the Marcoses built, including his burial at the LNMB.
However, this last presidential election had shown what the people really feel about the Marcoses, with approximately 31 million voting for President Marcos Jr. This massive decision has finally put to rest the yellow political machinery forever.
Now come the Dutertes with all their arrogant attitude and disposition. The most vociferous of the Duterte groups and paid media hacks and bloggers from their gangs have not mentioned, in all of their blabber and noise, the human rights abuses and EJKs that happened in the time of Rodrigo Duterte.
This resulted in the utter disappointment of right-thinking Filipinos who know exactly the origins of the Dutertes. So, it’s high time we seriously consider the entry into the country of the ICC to address the countless deaths that occurred during the dirty Duterte years.
As for our current President, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., I know he will eventually show more teeth what with the relentless bombardment of fake news about him, and more seriously were the recent fakery about him having a serious medical situation after having a catfight with his wife, First Lady Lisa Araneta Marcos.
It turned out to be a dud, as expected, having experienced several fakery from these sinister individuals who are nothing but intellectual cretins making their presence known in social media. They’ve practically murdered the president already with their news and are doing the old mind-conditioning strategy so the public may believe them, thus accepting the transition of Sara Duterte to the throne.
Truth is, she may have to defend herself should Rep. Benny Abante decide to pursue impeachment charges against her in the House.
But I would rather she self-destruct on the road to 2028 as the numbers on her are showing poorly these days.
Nevertheless, she is ripe for this since she will never admit to wrongdoing while she was Education Secretary and now as Vice-President. Bongbong knows this all too well but he would never interfere in the politics in Congress, having his hands full in the Executive Department.
So, do we need a real “dictator” today to straighten out our ugly, selfish political opportunists who would not think twice before calling for public anarchy on our streets?
We do. While Filipinos know they have instituted laws in society, the also are aware of the need to fully enforce them. And this is where they abuse their individual rights as to call for the resignation of the President born out of hatred for him and his family.
I would have wanted a worthier opposition, but I guess we just have to live with their mediocrity and myopia. Let them go with the flaw.
