Speak the truth. Sen. Win Gatchalian urges all resource persons to attend and speak the truth before the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality and help the Senate in ferreting out the veracity behind the activities of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) in the country. “Maybe this is a reminder to our resource persons that it is better to attend our hearing to give them the opportunity to clarify what they know and their side because when the case runs in this particular eventuality they will be jailed and we know that hearing a case takes time. Even if they talk to the media that they have nothing to do with it, they are already in jail,” Gatchalian said during Tuesday’s hearing, September 24, 2024. “Just a reminder to our resource persons, that hearing like this is an opportunity for them to provide what they know and help the committee find the truth,” he added. The committee chaired by Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros has been hearing the case of former Bamban Mayor Alice Guo and others on the alleged POGO and scam hub operations in Bamban, Tarlac and Porac, Pampanga.
