Shopee organizes online donations Typhoon Enteng victims

After quickly escalating into a tropical storm, Typhoon Enteng is expected to bring heavy rains in the regions of Bicol, Eastern Visayas, and portions of northern regions, including Ilocos and the Cordillera Administrative Region.

In response, Shopee has activated its disaster relief program, Shopee Bayanihan, to aid affected communities by conveniently allowing users to donate to trusted humanitarian organizations within the app.

For users who wish to show their support, Shopee is making it easier to do so by allowing them to purchase donation vouchers from Gawad Kalinga, GMA Kapuso Foundation, and UNICEF through the e-commerce platform. Donations go directly to chosen organizations to support respective typhoon relief efforts.

"At Shopee, we believe in the power of community and remain committed to using our platform to support Filipinos, especially during difficult times," said Vincent Lee, Head of Shopee Philippines. "Through Shopee Bayanihan, we aim to make it easier for our customers to connect and provide aid for our kababayans in need."

Users can access Typhoon Enteng e-vouchers through the Shopee Bayanihan microsite:

Visit https://shopee.ph/m/shopee-bayanihan or look up ‘Shopee Bayanihan’ in the app.

Choose the e-voucher of your preferred charity.

Click "Buy Now" to purchase the donation vouchers.

Other areas in Luzon are also experiencing overcast skies and heavy rainfall. The enhanced southwest monsoon, or "habagat," also contributes to the severe weather conditions, flooding several major roads in Metro Manila.

Typhoon Enteng will remain within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) for the next few days.
