Sara's disrespect for Marcos Sr., a diversion for confi fund misuse

Vice President Sara Duterte went to the extent of disrespecting the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. as she continues to divert public attention away from her alleged misuse of millions of pesos in confidential and intelligence funds (CIF) and the budget of the Department of Education (DepEd).

This was the view expressed by a member of the so-called "young guns" bloc in the House of Representatives in reaction to the Vice President's extended interview with journalists, in which she said: "Kung' di kayo tumigil, huhukayin ko yang tatay ninyo, itatapon ko siya sa West Philippine Sea."

The warning was directed at President Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. and his family.

In the interview, the Vice President admitted to once telling Sen. Imee Marcos that she would dump the remains of the late President Marcos Sr. in the West Philippine Sea.

Ironically, Sen. Imee Marcos considers VP Sara Duterte her friend. She would defend her now and then from her critics.

"Using and disrespecting the dead runs counter to our culture. For us Filipinos, that is a no-no," House Assistant Majority Leader and Taguig City Rep. Pammy Zamora said.

“Ang kawalang-galang sa patay ay hindi makatao at lalong hindi maka-Filipino. Hindi natin ginagawa ‘yan sa sinumang patay, kamag-anak o hindi. In fact, we love our departed. We visit them in their resting places whenever we can,” Zamora said.

Zamora said the Vice President must instead address the reports on her alleged misuse of intelligence funds and the DepEd budget when she was education secretary.
