Revival of railways system in Mindanao. Sen. Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito pushes for the revival of transport railways system project in Mindanao in a bid to bring development and economic growth in the region. During Wednesday’s budget hearing, September 25, 2024 conducted by the Finance Subcommittee C on the proposed 2025 budget of the Mindanao Development Authority, Ejercito said Mindanao has been the richest land in the Philippines that possesses a great potential to help boost economic growth for the country. “Now that we are making headway for peace, it's about time that we harness the full potential of Mindanao. So, the Mindanao Development Authority and other government agencies will play a vital role in the realization of this goal,” Ejercito stressed. “We have to put the necessary instrument. I have been advocating for transport system, the railway system. I hope this can be pushed in this administration. I hope we can find an alternative that can extend assistance because this is not only for convenience but this will stimulate economic growth and will spread out development in the countryside in Mindanao,” he added.
