PSA Mobile Civil Registry visits House

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), as part of its continuing efforts to bring its services closer to the people, on Thursday brought its mobile Civil Registry System (CRS) to the House of Representatives (HRep) in time for its month-long celebration of its 117th Anniversary.

The PSA’s mobile CRS, which supports the servicing of document requests in non-permanent locations, such as job and school fairs, government caravans, trade fairs, among others, was pilot-tested in the City of Candon, Ilocos Sur last March 25, 2024.

The PSA plans to deploy the mobile CRS nationwide, even in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

Minda Rose Vargas, supervisor of the project, said mobile CRS transactions are faster because applicants do not need to have prior appointment with the PSA to avail of civil registry documents.

Civil registry documents that can be availed of from the Mobile CRS are birth, marriage and death certificates and certificate of no marriage (CENOMAR).

“From payment then encoding, automatic kasi yun magkasabay sila. (In) 15 to 20 minutes, labas na yung dokumento. Yun ang difference, kaya dumadagsa ang mga tao kasi nakukuha nila agad ang dokumento,” Vargas reported.

She explained the importance of stable internet in the process, “Ang transaction nagdedepende minsan sa bilis ng internet… Pagpasok kasi sa encoding, ibato yan sa central office para sa ating mga gagawa na mga RSSO (Regional Statistical Services Office). Pagbalik dito, for printing na.”

The mobile CRS processed some 500 applications during its visit to the HRep.
