The Philippine Squash Academy will hold a National Championships from Sept. 12-15 at the National Squash Center inside the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
The tournament, featuring elite men and women, Division 1 and Division 2 events, is open to all and serves as selection for the national team.
Based on last year's national rankings, Reymark Begornia is No. 1 in the men's division followed by David Pelino, Christopher Buraga, Jonathan Reyes, Aero Dalida, Meljohn Arebado, and Carl Carillo.
Jemyca Aribado is on top of the women's division followed by Aysah Dalida, Lizette Reyes, and Aerra Relano.
Also scheduled are the Philippine Satellite 1 (Oct. 22-25) and the Philippine Challenger Classic (Oct. 28-31) which are also open to foreign players.
As host, the Philippines can give wild cards to local players, allowing them to earn points and improve their rankings to compete abroad. (PNA)
