PBBM renews vow to boost PH healthcare system

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday vowed to further strengthen the healthcare system in the country and bring medical services closer to the people.

In his speech during the “Libreng Laboratoryo, Konsulta, at Gamot Para sa Lahat (LAB For ALL)” caravan in Pasig City, President Marcos said the government, through the Department of Health (DOH), will continue providing accessible medical care services to Filipinos especially those in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs).

“Sa pangunguna ng Department of Health, patuloy po tayo sa pagpapatupad ng mga proyekto upang magkaroon ng rural health unit, doktor, nurse, ambulansya, mobile health clinic, at ibang mga kagamitan ang lahat ng lalawigan sa bansa, lalo na ‘yung ating napag-usapan nga ‘yung mga GIDA,” President Marcos said.

The President also said the DOH launched its “Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Service Centers” providing preventive, diagnostic, and curative primary care services across the country.

“Nagtatayo rin po tayo [ng] specialty centers sa bawat rehiyon ayon sa Republic Act No. 11959, o ang tinatawag na Regional Specialty Centers Act…Kasabay nito, nagpapamahagi rin tayo ng mga mobile primary care facilities (PCFs),” the President said.

President Marcos said the administration aims to provide mobile PCFs to all provinces and cities in Metro Manila with the help of the local government units (LGUs).

While the government exhausts all efforts to ensure accessible medical services for all, the President said this can only be achieved if every Filipino helps the administration attain its goal for the country’s healthcare system.

The President extended his gratitude to private sectors that donated healthcare facilities, the Metrobank and Toyota foundations, the local government units and the Filipinos for supporting the government’s initiative.

Before concluding his speech, President Marcos urged the public to avail of the free medical services offered by the LAB for All project of First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos. | PND
