Sen. Rissa Hontiveros, chairperson of the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality, questions officials of the Department of Justice (DOJ) if they are pursuing investigations of public officials and law enforcement agents who facilitated the escape of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo and her siblings, Shiela and Wesley. Justice Undersecretary Nicolas Felix Ty informed Hontiveros during the Finance Subcommittee A hearing on the proposed 2025 budget of the DOJ and attached agencies that they had already received instructions from the Secretary regarding the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) concerns. He said the DOJ is coordinating with all relevant government agencies, including the Bureau of Immigration and the National Bureau of Investigation in connection with the investigation. The Guos are facing an order of arrest for their repeated failure to attend a Senate inquiry on the alleged illegal activities of POGO hubs in Pampanga and Tarlac.
