Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) on Sunday confirmed a "limited data breach" on its system, mainly targetting the Easytrip app, but assured its customers that their toll wallet balances are "intact and secure."
MPTC said on its Facebook account that "some user accounts may have been accessed and possibly compromised" during the data breach.
It said the breach was noticed on Saturday night, but their information security team quickly contained the attack and secured the affected data.
"We assure our Easytrip account holders that their toll wallet balances are intact and secure. We will reach out to the affected account holders," the MPTC said.
MPTC operates NLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX, and other tollways.
