QC drug sting yields P680K worth of shabu


Members of the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PNP PDEG) SOU4A arrested a 24-year-old drug peddler during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.


The suspect, identified as Elijah Andrew Pe Beneto Serrano alias “Manuel,” was apprehended by arresting officers after attempting to flee when a pseudo buyer successfully purchased illegal drugs.


Seized from the suspect were approximately 100 grams of a white crystalline substance, believed to be shabu (methamphetamine), with an estimated value of P680,000, along with various IDs, a cellphone, a motorcycle and the marked money.


Police Capt. Vicente Bugnay disclosed that Serrano had been under surveillance for a week prior to the successful drug buy-bust operation that led to his capture.


The suspect is currently detained at the PNP-PDEG jail facility in Bicutan, Taguig.


According to the authorities, the suspect will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
