Marcos reappoints Teodoro’s wife as special envoy to UNICEF

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has reappointed Monica Louise “Nikki” Prieto-Teodoro, wife of Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro Jr., as special envoy to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Mrs. Teodoro’s appointment as Special Envoy of the President to UNICEF was announced by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) in a social media post on Tuesday night.

A child rights advocate and a former Tarlac congresswoman, Mrs. Teodoro was first appointed to the post in August last year.

She held the same position under the Duterte administration from 2017 to 2018.

UNICEF is the world’s leading humanitarian agency for children, aimed at protecting the rights of children, especially the vulnerable and disadvantaged.

The PCO also announced the appointment of Giovanni Palec as Non-Resident Ambassador to North Macedonia, in addition to being Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Hellenic Republic, with concurrent jurisdiction over the Republic of Cyprus.

Noel Eugene Eusebio Servigon was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Romania; Honee Fritz Abangan Diel and Galo Macasinag as Fire Chief Superintendent.

Also in the list of latest Presidential appointees were members of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Board of Directors with Raul Marcelo representing Business and Investment Sector; and Kenneth Lemuel Rementilla, Honorio Allado III, and Maria Cecilia Bitare representing the Private Sector.
