Is there still hope for our nation to prosper once again?

It’s not politics, religious leaders, or any individual that we need for our country to thrive. Let’s turn to the Bible for guidance.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (Good News Bible): “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

This verse shows us that for God to bless a nation, the people must humble themselves, pray, unite, and turn away from their sins. This is what God wants to see in our country!

We are shackled by poverty, but if we all unite and return to God, He will surely hear us and bless us once more.

So, what do we see in our country that causes poverty and lack of progress? It’s because our political leaders are not united, our religious leaders are divided, crime is rampant, and the sins of our people are overwhelming.

The question is, is there still hope for us to progress?

Let’s look at what happened during the time of Prophet Jonah when he proclaimed God’s warning to the nation of Nineveh about its impending destruction due to their great sins.

When the king heard this proclamation, he thought deeply and issued a decree, which we can read in:

Jonah 3:6-8 (Good News Bible): "When the news reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat down in the dust. Then he issued a proclamation in Nineveh: ‘By the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink. But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence.’

The nation of Nineveh obeyed the king’s decree. They all united in humbling themselves and returning to God. As a result, the Lord heard their prayers and did not bring destruction upon their nation.

This shows that God blessed the nation of Nineveh again because they responded to His warning. The same can happen to any nation that returns to the Lord. May this happen to our beloved Philippines.

I believe that if we do this in our country—unite, humble ourselves, pray, repent, and return to God—we will see a great transformation. Our nation will be healed, and we will once again experience prosperity and progress.

God bless you all!
